Well in India the greatest challenge is to the culture and languages, like Sanskrit and Urdu ( languages ) have almost died, and more languages and scripts are just vanishing since the use of English is becoming status symbol and parameter of intelligence, hence is has also effecting art and basic cultures,
I always believed that all languages and cultures are unique and have beauty of its own and not be compared, as for me my mother tongue - Punjabi is supreme though I don’t use it much but I try to speak and express in Punjabi, and as an artist also i have explored that Indian culture is really creative and in sink with nature,
The kids in school speak English from class one but I think they need to learn expression in there mother tongue first as it has been proved that children learn better/fast in their mother tongue.
Now we have a class of people who can speak English and those who cant, and then people like me who are concerned but helpless.
